Wanna Raise Taxes, Democrats? Well, Here's Where You Start

Rather than keep playing this class warfare game and claiming that the rich "should pay their fare share", how about requiring every wage earner to contribute to the federal treasury? After all, nearly 50% of wage earners pay NOTHING in federal income taxes and yet they benefit from the same federal expenditures as everybody else. In fact, they undoubtedly take far more from the system than any of the rich do.

Until everyone has a stake in the federal budget (and not just be on the receiving end) it's going to be hard to bring seriousness to the debate. When half the people have no skin in the game, why shouldn't they vote for people who promise to keep them from contributing while stickin' it to the rich? It's a dangerously self-destructive system.

Every wage earner should be required to contribute a minimum percentage - I don't care if it's only $5.  Until everyone feels like they're affected by tax rates we'll never get control of the budget process.

Any time a Democrat claims we need to reign in "expenditures in the tax code", I suggest they start with the most egregious one - the "Earned Income Tax Credit". It is estimated that 22 - 30% of 'taxpayers' claiming the credit are not even eligible, and it probably costs $100 billion. Nothing but welfare.
