President Obama's summer woes have dragged his approval rating to an all-time low, sinking below 40% for the first time in Gallup's daily tracking poll. With Obama there's something else that needs to be calculated into those numbers - the racism fudge factor. What is that? That potentially several percentage points of respondents who will say they approve of Obama because they don't want the pollster to think they're racists. Don't laugh, it happens.
New data posted Sunday shows that 39% of Americans approve of Obama's job performance, while 54% disapprove. Both are the worst numbers of his presidency.
Jim Treacher takes is a bit further:
39% of Americans still worried about being called racists: http://t.co/znwWuoISo, chance are the real number is a point or two lower, but we'll never know. Even if nobody in the country approved of him he'd still get 2% or 3% because of the racism fudge factor.
Can he turn it around? Sure. He could start listening to the voters and stop being such a lefty ideologue. But that's not going to happen. I have a feeling he's planning to go down with the ship.
Oh Hillary? Hillary? The Democrat Party turns its lonely eyes to you....
