More Super Committee Picks

The Republicans have made their picks for the debt Super Committee, as reported by Todd Starnes of Fox Radio:
Boehner picks Super Committee: Hensarling (R-Tex.), Camp (R-Mich.) and Upton (R-Mich.)

McConnell picks Super Committee: Kyl, Toomey, Portman
To their credit that's a pretty conservative group, with the exception of Upton, though many people are wondering why Paul Ryan isn't on the House list.  Upton supported Tarp, Cash for Clunkers, and voted to take away your 100 watt lightbulbs.  Not exactly a conservative icon.

Jon Kyle is an interesting, and potentially dangerous pick, because he's not planning to run for re-election and therefore has nothing to lose no matter what he votes for. I'm not real comfortable with that, despite his general conservatism. I'd rather have somebody in there that's still afraid of the voters.

UPDATE:  Ari Fleischer answers the Ryan question:
Ryan just issued a statement saying he asked not to go on so he could instead lead a budget reform movement this fall.
