I'll be honest, I haven't been a Perry fan since he decreed by executive order that 13-year-old girls had to have Gardasil vaccinations -- for a disease that cannot be caught in the classroom -- as a condition of attending school. Way too much nanny statism for me. Someone having that "I know better than parents or even the legislature" instinct makes me suspicious. The Texas legislature overturned his order.
That said, there are no perfect candidates, and any Republican candidate would be 100% better than Obama. I like Perry's ad, emphasizing jobs and the economy. It works for me and I would vote for Perry.
