WH taking credit for deal. Pfeiffer says Obama's call for public action put pressure on Congress.Of course they are.
Obama's call for people to jam the phones at the Capitol succeeded in...jamming the phones. Nothing else. His Twitter spam war succeeded in losing him 40,000 followers. It obviously didn't inspire any activity from Harry Reid. He shot down everything the House threw at him without introducing anything of his own.
The House was already working on various plans. The phone calls from Obama supporters certainly didn't change the bill the House crafted since it had no tax hikes, no shots at corporate jets or anything the other stuff that Obama demagogued.
Basically, the parade has started and Obama is trying to grab his baton and run in front to convince everyone he's the drum major and everyone is following him.
Sorry. America isn't buying that.
