No, that's not a grammatical error, I'm talking about the Peanuts cartoon strip. I was just looking at the Sunday ad section which is surrounded by the funny pages, and in the local Orange County Register the top strip in the Sunday funnies is still Peanuts, even though it's creator died in 2000 the night before his final original strip ran. The strip that ran in this past Sunday's paper was from 1964 and it still worked in 2011. That was some good writing.
A little later I stumbled on this piece from 2010 about why Peanuts was so successful. It's good reading for fans like me. At the time that 1964 strip ran I was a very avid Peanuts fan and was collecting his books as well as cutting strips out of the paper and putting them in a scrapbook. I still have those books today.
