The Fewer Words Seem To Make Better Ideas

There's an old saying that if I had more time I would have written you a shorter letter.  Think about it a bit and you'll see that makes a lot of sense.  With more time and effort ideas can be distilled down into more succinct and meaningful phrases.

With that in mind, I saw this on Facebook today:
Pythagorean theorem: .................................... 24 words
Lord's prayer:................................................. 66 words
Archimedes' Principle: .................................... 67 words
10 Commandments: ....................................... 179 words
Gettysburg address: ....................................... 286 words
Declaration of Independence : ........................ 1,300 words
US Constitution with all 27 Amendments : ....... 7,818 words
US Government regs on sale of cabbage: ........ 26,911 words

SORT OF PUTS THINGS INTO PERSPECTIVE, DOESN'T IT

You guys must be all in favor of poisoning to death the whole cabbage-eating world! Without government regulations, corporations would be putting profits ahead of people and they'd end up killing their customers -which
wouldn't
be
profitable
at
all.

Nevermind.
