The left trying to gauge how expensive it will be to raise an army. Every campaign has to deal with soldiers going AWOL for one reason or another, and the left just needs to find out how long their army can go if only fighting for an ideology. How long can they go if you add food and water to the ideology. How much longer can they go if you add housing or a paycheck.
