Time Change Claims Its First Victims

According to police the driver didn't see these girls in the crosswalk:
Two teenage girls are in critical condition after they were hit by a car near Gladstone High School in Covina, authorities said.

The accident happened at 6:44 a.m. Monday at Lark Ellen Avenue and Tudor Street.

Authorities say the two girls were struck by a car while walking to school.
Sunrise this morning was at 6:17, meaning the sun was very low on the horizon and absolutely blinding to anyone looking in that direction.

Be careful out there.  The first day after the time change is usually a dangerous time to be driving - especially with the earlier sunset tonight which will occur when many people are driving home.

Lark Ellen is north and south-bound so sun in the eyes is not a factor. It is more likely that the woman was texting or speeding. In any case, thank you for the warning about day light savings.
