Federal Judge: You Can't Force People to Violate Their Religious Beliefs

This may well be the case that undoes Obama's contraception mandates in Obamacare:
U.S. District Judge Ronald B. Leighton declared the state regulation unconstitutional because it trampled on pharmacists' right to "conscientious objection."

The ruling only applies to Washington state but is sure to reverberate nationally, as it comes in the midst of a roiling political debate about a new federal regulation mandating that all health insurance plans - even those sponsored by religious employers - provide free birth control.

Several religiously affiliated universities have sued to block that insurance regulation. Their arguments are similar to those that prevailed in the pharmacy case - namely, that the government has no right to compel individuals to violate their sincerely held religious beliefs.
This issue is a loser for Obama, but he's such an ideologue and so devoted to the worship of abortion he won't back down until the court forces him to.

In more news from "progressive" Washington State (I sometimes am ashamed to admit I grew up there), the House of Representatives voted to require health care plans that cover pregnancy to also cover abortions. Because somehow providing healthcare for a fetus must also include funding to kill it. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before this same logic is applied to senior citizens (nursing home care / euthanasia).
