Nanny State Headlines of the Day

From Drudge:
FOOD POLICE REJECT HOMEMADE LUNCH...

MAKE PRESCHOOLER EAT 'CAFETERIA NUGGETS'...
According to a caller on Rush's show, a father who wanted to put his kid into preschool was told to either sign a statement promising to make his kid lunches that met federal standards or the kid couldn't be in preschool. It's become a theater of the absurd.

We didn't have these problems when vats of boiling tar and bags of feathers were readily available to the citizenry. The Division of Child Development and Early Education at the Department of Health and Human Services is probably saying "Ooooh, you're going to fill my inbox with a bunch of angry emails, I'm so scaaaaared." Tar and feathers would get their attention.

In the meantime, kids are getting used to doing whatever the authorities say -no matter how ridiculous.
