Another Suicide by Metrolink

Boy, there have been a lot of these lately:
A train struck and killed a pedestrian in Fullerton on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

Officers about 3:15 p.m. responded to reports of a train striking a pedestrian near State College Boulevard and Valencia Drive, Fullerton police Lt. John Siko said.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, according to MetroNet, a fire dispatch service. It wasn't immediately clear if the victim was a man or woman.

Investigators are talking to witnesses to determine whether the death was an accident or a suicide, police said.

Metrolink officials confirmed that one of their trains was involved in the incident.

Metrolink No. 705 was traveling between the West Corona and the Fullerton stations, according to the official Metrolink Twitter feed.

No riders or crew members were injured, said Sherita Coffelt, a Metrolink spokeswoman.
I really feel sorry for the train engineers. I'm guessing some of these guys have had more than one of these incidents and that's got to take a terrible toll, even if there was nothing they could do to prevent the collision.
