“Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.”
-Stephen Chu, September 2008

“When I became secretary of energy, I represented the U.S. government, and I think now in this economic very slow return, these prices could well affect the comeback of our economy and we’re very worried about that.”
-Stephen Chu, March 2012

Remember that in September of 2008 the economic outlook was dire, so dire we had to spend trillions of dollars in stimulus, or it was armageddon. Now Chu is testifying that his opinion changed from then to now because THE ECONOMY IS WORSE TODAY THAN IT WAS IN SEPTEMBER 2008!

Is that supposed to help Obama's re-election?
