John Heileman, who works for MSNBC, agrees with Charlie Rose that in 2008 the press did love Barack Obama. However this year he says:Like many Obama supporters, the media has had their hearts broken too as Mr. Rainbows and Unicorns who was going to unite us all turned out to be just another Chicago political thug. However, don't think for a moment that they don't want him re-elected. They may be a bit less enthusiastic, but they won't be putting Romney stickers on their news vans anytime soon.
“Well the bloom is off that rose, for sure. There’s no love affair with Barack Obama anymore.”He goes on to point out that the press now sees Obama as just another politician and are generally more hostile towards him.
