Zimmerman Prosecutor Threatens to Sue Harvard Because of Criticism

This is a woman who does not understand the Constitution. Here's part of what Alan Derschowitz had to say:
State Attorney Angela Corey, the prosecutor in the George Zimmerman case, recently called the Dean of Harvard Law School to complain about my criticism of some of her actions.
She was transferred to the Office of Communications and proceeded to engage in a 40-minute rant, during which she threatened to sue Harvard Law School, to try to get me disciplined by the Bar Association and to file charges against me for libel and slander.

She said that because I work for Harvard and am identified as a professor she had the right to sue Harvard.

When the communications official explained to her that I have a right to express my opinion as “a matter of academic freedom,” and that Harvard has no control over what I say, she did not seem to understand.
This is why I doubt they'll ever get a conviction in this case. Zimmerman was overcharged, criticism that Derschowitz had made when the charges were announced, and the entire prosecution just smells of politics.

Didn't Nifong spend only one night in jail for trying to ruin the lives of the Duke Lacrosse players? If bank robbers were treated with similar kid-gloves, you'd see bank robberies skyrocket as everyone with a gun and a ski mask did the risk assessment.

Similarly, when it's extremely rare for people in positions of authority to get their comeuppance, you're going to see more and more people in positions of authority run roughshod over citizens (attention Aurora, Colorado Police Department).

Instead of just sitting back and basking in her relatively unchecked power, Angela Corey attempts to silence any criticism. I wouldn't be surprised if she looked up any Florida criminal code she could throw at Derschowitz before resorting to threatening him with a civil suit.

Smells? Smells of stupidity, too.
