That title, which sounds like gibberish, is some stuff I learned this afternoon watching
KFOR-TV in Oklahoma City as multiple tornadoes developed around the Oklahoma City area. I've watched a lot of stormchaser shows, but hadn't heard those three terms. "Sink Drain" was the swirling Doppler radar signature of a tornado circulation, "Octopus Arms" are bands of heavy storms feeding into the "sink drain", and "Debris ball" is the radar signature of a large tornado full of homes, cars and other stuff.
The on-air meteorologist was live for probably 2 or 3 hours, going non-stop and giving a lot of good information as storms were moving across the state. The helicopter was following the action along with crews on the ground. If I was a resident of Oklahoma I would have felt pretty good about the quality of information they were giving me.
Well done.
