Earthquake of the Day

Things are definitely picking up around Southern California.  Earthquakes are becoming a lot more common, and this afternoon a 5.4 rolled through the area.  What cracks me up are the phone calls the radio and TV stations get from people around the area anxious to tell their stories.

The earthquake was in Borrego Springs, and one guy called in from Julian, about 25 miles away, and gave an account of the "vicious shaking" that hit his house and how he was afraid windows would break.  Then came the rest of the conversation:
Radio guy: "That must have been scary. Did you have damage to your house of did anything get knocked over?"

Julian guy: "No."
If "vicious shaking" didn't do any damage, I'd hate to see what a real earthquake would do.

I've always wanted to call in after one of these events and give them a story they won't forget:
Radio guy: "Billy Ray is on the phone, calling from the Inland Empire. Billy Ray, what was it like out where you live?"

Billy Ray: "Well, Bob, I was making love to Betsy Sue and I thought to myself, Billy Ray, you're really bringing it today. Got the 'A' game working, son. But then this jar of pickles I had on the headboard fell off. Hit me right on the head. That's a show-STOPPER, I gotta tell ya."

Radio guy: (stunned silence)
Someday...someday.

LOL... love the someday someday portion, LOL.. a Jar of pickles, Oh my goodness too funny.

I live in San Diego & yes we did get quite a jolt from today earthquake of 5.4, but we had a 5.7 earthquake last month, and if it scares people that much, well then move to where there are no earthquakes, LOL... people truly can be morons.

Enjoy the blog.
