How Much Did You Make? Send It In.

That's how an old joke about a new income tax form goes, but in Britain it could become a reality:
The UK's tax collection agency is putting forth a proposal that all employers send employee paychecks to the government, after which the government would deduct what it deems as the appropriate tax and pay the employees by bank transfer.
Don't think some Democrat isn't licking his chops over that idea.

If you really want to fix the tax system and government in this country there's a really easy way to do it. Rush Limbaugh has been suggesting it for years.

First, eliminate all income tax withholding.

Second, require every wage earner to pay their income taxes by check once a quarter. Make the individual write the check instead of having the employer withhold it. When people have to sit down and actually write out that check to Uncle Sam you'll see a big change in people's attitudes toward the tax system and the government it pays for.
