Irvine Teacher Dies in Classroom

Sad story from nearby Irvine:
A Woodbridge High School English teacher collapsed in his classroom during Monday's lunch period and died.

Kent Bentley, 46, was known as Coach K.J. to students. He coached the school's wrestling team for at least 15 years.

A group of students was walking by his classroom and spotted Bentley on the ground. A staff member tried to provide CPR but was unable to revive Bentley, according to Irvine Unified spokesman Ian Hanigan.

The district immediately brought in six school psychologists to talk to students, and Irvine Police Department also offered the services of grief counselors. Counseling will also be available to students on Tuesday.

"Everybody is just absolutely heartbroken," Hanigan said, at the loss of a much-loved teacher.
That's going to be tough on the kids.
