Want to Take a Gun on an Airliner? You've Got a 70% Chance of Success

In baseball a batter can fail 70% of the time and still end up in the Hall of Fame.  However, that kind of success rate isn't good when you're talking airline security and a recent incident in which a man innocently took a loaded gun on a plane points out how ineffective all the TSA screening really is:
Authorities tell ABC News the incident is not uncommon, but how often it occurs is a closely guarded government secret. Experts say every year since the September 11 attacks, federal agencies have conducted random, covert tests of airport security.

A person briefed on the latest tests tells ABC News the failure rate approaches 70 percent at some major airports. Two weeks ago, TSA’s new director said every test gun, bomb part or knife got past screeners at some airports.
The man involved was a Houston businessman of Iranian descent. Do you think his nationality might have bought him a politically-correct response from the TSA? After all, had he been a 70-year old white grandma he probably would have ended up with a full body pat down.
