White House Spins the Tax Bill

If you look at the White House schedule today you'll see this item at 3:50 pm:
The President signs the middle-class tax cut bill
South Court Auditorium
How many things are wrong with those few words?
  • This is not a tax cut bill.  No one's taxes will be cut.  Income tax rates will remain in 2011 right where they were in 2010.
  • Estate tax rates will skyrocket from 0% to 35%.  Rich people - you still have a few days left to die and leave your assets to your heirs instead of the government.
  • It doesn't just apply to the middle class, but applies to all taxpayers including the rich which gave liberals the vapors.  It does not apply to the to the 43% or more of wage earners who don't pay taxes.  They'll still get a free ride.
At least the part about the President and the South Court Auditorium are correct.

UPDATE:  This is interesting - Sen. Mitch McConnell, Senate Republican Leader, will attend the signing ceremony, the first he's attended with Obama as president.  Neither Nancy Pelosi nor Harry Reid will attend. Could it be the liberals are more upset about this deal than the conservatives?
