I remember when ethanol was mandated in the US -soon after the price of everything with bread in it skyrocketed because farmers were switching to corn to pickup the government subsidy. There was a sign posted at the checkout counter at Panera Bread apologizing to customers for events beyond their control.
It was Liberalism in action.
