The Terri Schiavo case was heard by a Federal District Court judge this afternoon, but the fact that no injunctive relief has been issued as of this point leads me to believe that the judge will not be symphathetic to Terri's case. Surely if he was inclined at all to rule in the favor of the family, he would have ordered at the very least hydration to begin again, if not full nutrition.
His delay is increasing the damage to Terri's body and making it less likely that a good outcome can be obtained. Should he rule against the family, they can still take the case to the 11th Circuit for appeal, but meanwhile the damage continues. What are people going to think if after a significant delay they order the tubes inserted once again, but not before permanent kidney damage is done requiring dialysis? Up until this point she has not been on like support other than nutrition and hydration.
Something to think about.
