Good News Out of Utah

The missing Boy Scout has been found alive and pretty well:
Authorities confirmed Tuesday that a missing 11-year-old scout has been found alive in Utah, four days after he vanished.

Brennan Hawkins was located safe and sound with no major injuries. He was found just before noon near Lily Lake, about five miles northeast of the Boy Scout camp where he was last seen Friday, said Kay Godfrey, director of public relations for the Great Salt Lake Council.

"He was extremely hungry and thirsty," Sheriff Dave Edmunds said. "He looked like he was in excellent shape to me."

Edmunds said Hawkins did not want to talk much but after drinking some water and eating some food he expressed interest in a volunteer's cell phone video game. Edmunds said he didn't tell rescuers much except that he wanted to see his mother.

I'm glad that all worked out well. It seems nowadays that when kids go missing the outcome is usually bad. The Boy Scouts have been vilified by the left for years now and are being driven out of public facilities because of their stand against homosexual Scout leaders, but I wonder how much his Boy Scout training helped him survive the four days he was missing? I'll bet he's a pretty good kid too.

Let's put an anti-Scout lefty in the woods and see how he (or she or it) would do under the same circumstances.
