Katrina Relief Effort

UPDATE: As of 9:00 pm Sept. 1 there were 1,025 bloggers signed up for this effort. Good work, everybody!

In cooperation with the So Cal Bloggers' Alliance and hundreds of bloggers around the world, HolyCoast.com is joining the relief effort for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Today all of these blogs will be encouraging their readers to give to the relief effort. Because of this special effort, this post will remain at the top of the blog all day today. You can scroll down to see any other new postings.

I'm going to be making a contribution to Heart to Heart International, a international relief organization for which a cousin of mine is a senior officer. She has flown all over the world bringing relief supplies to needy folks, and they have an active relief effort underway for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. I would encourage you to join me in contributing.

There are lots of worthy organizations that deserve your support, and the So Cal Bloggers' have developed a list of organizations that our members will be supporting. To see the whole list, look to the right side of this page and scroll down until you see the Katrina Disaster Relief graphic. The links are right below the graphic.

There is also a listing on Instapundit of worthy organizations. I don't care who you give to, but I hope you will give to somebody. Americans are at their best when they're reaching out and helping their neighbors, and right now millions of our fellow citizens are hurting. Let's help them out.

After you've made your contribution, we'd like you to register your contribution by going to this page and filling in the information. This way we can see how well this effort by bloggers has worked.
