The MoveOn Dummies Think Roberts Hates Hurricane Victims

Never underestimate the left's ability to go completely beyond reality in their efforts to stop conservatives. Their latest failing effort will be an ad scheduled to run starting on Monday which basically blames Judge John Roberts for hurricane victims:
The televised images of poverty-stricken evacuees from Hurricane Katrina are part of a provocative, last-minute effort by a liberal interest group to divert federal Judge John Roberts' path to confirmation as chief justice.

MoveOn.org Political Action plans to unveil a TV ad on Monday that questions whether Roberts is sensitive enough to civil rights concerns to lead the Supreme Court. The ad suggests that the plight of the mostly African-American evacuees in New Orleans showed that poverty remains a serious problem among minorities, said Ben Brandzel, the group's advocacy director. In a mix of judicial and racial politics, the ad then suggests that minorities could suffer if the Senate confirms Roberts.

"The connection is obvious," Brandzel said.
How many obscure dots did MoveOn have to connect to try and come up with this one? This plays like one of those "six degrees of separation" games and will not hurt the Roberts nomination one bit. Nobody, except the extreme looney left, is going to be able to follow the extreme flights of insanity that would be required to make this connection.

Frankly, I love it when they do stuff like this because it exposes them for the non-serious organization that they really are.

UPDATE: MoveOn now denies it ever planned to run the ads mentioned above. Sounds like some Dems got to them and told them to knock it off.
