Senator Momma Moonbat?

The other day, while schmoozing with socialist dictator Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, Momma Moonbat Cindy Sheehan threatened to challenge Diane Feinstein for U.S. Senate because she had not agreed to support a filibuster of Judge Samuel Alito. Feinstein got the message and quickly changed her position and agreed to support the already-doomed filibuster effort.

I'm guessing that Sheehan had lots of her wacko friends calling her and urging her to run, and since Feinstein caved on the filibuster issue, Sheehan has decided now to go after DiFi on the war:

Cindy Sheehan, the peace activist who set up camp near President Bush's Texas ranch last summer, said Saturday she is considering running against Sen. Dianne Feinstein to protest what she called the California lawmaker's support for the war in Iraq.

"She voted for the war. She continues to vote for the funding. She won't call for an immediate withdrawal of the troops," Sheehan told The Associated Press in an interview while attending the World Social Forum in Venezuela along with thousands of other anti-war and anti-globalization activists.

"I think our senator needs to be held accountable for her support of George Bush and his war policies," said Sheehan, whose 24-year-old soldier son Casey was killed in Iraq in 2004.

[...]

Sheehan said running in the Democratic primary would help make a broader point.

"If I decided to run, I would have no illusions of winning, but it would bring attention to all the peace candidates in the country," she said.

Is this another case of Democratic windmill-tilting, or could she actually win? The sad thing is, this is California and the there's every possibility that she could win the primary...remember, these are the same people who keep sending Barbara "Dumb as a Box of Rocks" Boxer to the Senate. If the California lefties got fired up enough, I'm not sure there are enough moderates (and sane Dems) out there to save Feinstein.

I hope Momma Moonbat decides to run. It would sure make for a fun primary. Feinstein would have to move hard left to keep from losing all the wackos over there, and there would be an opportunity for a strong GOP candidate to look pretty good by comparison. Unfortunately, I have no idea who that candidate would be, and they'd have to get in the race in the next two weeks. Candidate statements are due into the Secretary of State by Feb. 14.

Stay tuned.
