Abortion Clinic Bombing Scare in Secretary of State Ads

The campaign ads being run this year in the Dem primary seem to have become especially dumb. This morning a candidate for Secretary of State began running ads which supposedly show an abortion clinic getting blown up, and then proclaiming that the candidate protected abortion clinics during her time in Sacramento.

Number one, when was the last time an abortion clinic was blown up anywhere in this country, let alone California? Is it still a big problem? Secondly, what does the Secretary of State have to do with whether abortion or abortion clinics will be protected in California? Nothing. Other than running elections, the Secretary of State job is pretty meaningless.

This particular Senator - now running for Secretary of State - is simply following the Dem article of faith that you must first show your allegiance to abortion before you can be considered for higher office.
