After the Storm

We had a rare treat for this part of the country with a late afternoon thunderstorm that passed just east of our house and gave us the chance to sit out and watch the lightning (without the fear of becoming a target of same). I took this picture as the sun was setting behind western edge of the storm clouds.

After a stifling day the storm brought welcome relief and about a 20 degree drop in the air temperature. For you midwesterners this is no big deal, but for Californians this is exciting stuff.
