I told you the other day that the Phil Angelides campaign (and his supporters) were upset that Gov. Arnold Schwartzenegger had been invited to appear on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. They demanded equal time or the cancelation of the Arnold appearance. NBC didn't cave, and despite idiotic protesters outside the studio last night, Arnold made his appearance and as of this point no invitation has been extended to the Prince of Boredom, Angelides.
What was especially interesting to me was the reaction of the local non-NBC media. They seemed really upset that Leno would go through with this appearance and not invite Angelides. The reporters had these snippy little reports trying to explain why Angelides was right to complain, and even interviewed people waiting in line for tickets to the show and asked them if they thought the Tonight Show was "entertainment or news". This morning they were describing Arnold's appearance as "controversial".
It's certainly no mystery now that the local L.A. media is pulling for Angelides. Why, I can't imagine.
