Hey, It Worked for David

We all remember the Old Testament story of the little shepherd boy David taking on mighty Goliath with just a slingshot and a few smooth stones. The last thing Goliath said: "Nothing like that ever entered my mind before!".

Tijuana police were recently disarmed by the authorities and have been trying to police their sordid little town without weapons. Not to fear - they've been rearmed with a Biblical favorite (from Special Report):

No Guns

You may recall last week we ran a report about police officers in Tijuana, Mexico being forced to turn in their guns — because officials were worried they were on the take. The cops were upset that they could no longer defend themselves.

So now the department has issued about 60 slingshots to officers patrolling tourist areas — along with bags of ball bearings.

That didn't seem to impress the officers — about 100 of them demonstrated outside the town hall Monday demanding their guns back.

Halt, or I'll sling this ball bearing at you!!
