Tancredo Begins Failed Presidential Bid

The darling of the far far right, Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo, has begun a presidential bid that has absolutely no chance:

Regarded by many as the leading opponent of illegal immigration in Congress, Republican Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado announced today he's taking a step toward a presidential run with the launch of an exploratory campaign committee.

"I'm going to do so because I believe there is a void in the present panoply of people seeking that office," Tancredo said this morning on the Fox News Channel program "Fox and Friends.

Tancredo is betting that his vigorous opposition to illegal immigration will be enough to propel his candidacy. He's wrong.
