Uncle Barack's Cabin

We've already had Uncle Strom's Cabin and the revelation that some of Strom Thurmond's ancestors owned Al Sharpton's ancestors, and now there's news that at least one of Barack Obama's ancestors owned a couple of slaves of his own:

The Baltimore Sun says Sen. Barack Obama's ancestors owned slaves, adding another interesting twist to the presidential candidate's personal story.

"According to the research, one of Obama's great-great-great-great grandfathers, George Washington Overall, owned two slaves who were recorded in the 1850 census in Nelson County, Ky. The same records show that one of Obama's great-great-great-great-great-grandmothers, Mary Duvall, also owned two slaves."

An Obama spokesman did not dispute the information and said that the senator's ancestors "are representative of America."

Gee, I wonder which side of the family he was on? I guess the reparations crowd will need to get a check from Obama too.
