Pictures in the News

There are some interesting pictures in the news today. First we have the Speaker of the House as she visits a mosque in Syria, a trip that was against the express desires of the Bush Administration and for which the President himself spoke out in opposition.

Yes, that's the image of American strength we want to project to our enemies (h/t Drudge).

Then we have the other contestant for America's First Female in full cry (h/t Michelle Malkin): The caption says this is Clinton's reaction to seeing an "old friend". It looks to me like it's Clinton seeing one of Bill's girlfriends.

And then there's this (h/t Don Surber):

That's the president helping nearly 90 year old Robert Byrd to his seat at the recent ceremony honoring the Tuskegee Airmen. Byrd is easily one of the most partisan Democrats in Congress and has called Bush a liar on too many occasions to remember. Were I in the president's position, and had he talked about me that way he's talked about Bush, I would have gently led him to the nearest staircase and given him a loving shove.

However, Bush is basically a good guy and he has compassion on his enemies. Good for him, but I don't think I could do it.
