McCain To Wave the Green Flag

John McCain will get the coveted honorary starter role at the NASCAR Nextel Cup Coca-Cola 600 on May 27th:

Coca-Cola and speedway officials also announced that Senator and Republican presidential candidate John McCain will serve as the honorary starter, waving the green flag to send the 43 drivers on their 600-mile journey.

They were going to use a Democrat, but realized that any Dem they got would probably throw the checkered flag after the first wreck and demand that the drivers quit before the long race became a quagmire.
