Hurricane Howard Dean Will Probably Miss the U.S.

Like a politician screaming his way to a crushing defeat after the Iowa caucus, hurricane Howard Dean is screaming its way through the Caribbean with Jamaica firmly in its sights. That island is in for a serious beating (something its namesake was never able to do to his Dem primary opponents).


There's lots of bad news for Jamaicans and others in that region, but more and more good news for Texans. Most of the models have the storm continuing westward across the Yucatan peninsula and on into Mexico (though one model actually has the storm curving north and hitting New Orleans - that model must be run by Democrats).

Say a prayer for Jamaica. This will likely be the strongest storm ever to make a direct hit on the island nation.
