Petaluma

I borrowed my daughter's MacBook so I could get my blogging fix and update the trip. We made it up here in a little more than 7 hours, though when the GPS was down to only 6 miles to go we hit completely locked up traffic on 101. A couple of folks had managed to get together on the bridge over the Petaluma Marina and left pieces and parts all over the road. We spend a number of boring minutes waiting that out.

After checking in to the hotel, the Mrs. wanted to see scenic downtown Petaluma, so we wandered a few miles down the road and spent some time walking around the old downtown area. Here's a shot of some of the old buildings.

Along the way we stopped at the Historic Library and Museum, built in 1904 by Andrew Carnegie, which frankly looks like something from Back to the Future. I could almost see Doc climbing around on top trying to hook up the power line.

After the early wake-up call this morning we'll probably lay pretty low tonight. More pictures tomorrow.
