The Washington Times reports that Slate's Supreme Court reporter Dahlia Lithwick, speaking at the YearlyKos gathering, poured out her feelings about watching the Roberts and Alito confirmation hearings:She was apparently upset that the Democrats didn't ask tougher questions, though I'm sure that the questions she would have preferred couldn't have been answered by Alito or Roberts without prejudging potential cases. You can't ask "litmus test" type questions and expect the nominee to answer them.
"I covered those confirmation hearings. I went home at night in tears. It was awful."
Perhaps such a fragile flower should not be burdened with reporting the next confirmation should Bush get one more opportunity.
