In preparation for the annual trip to the Rockport Gospel Music Festival I usually ship 6-8 boxes of CD product that we'll sell while we're back there. Because of the timing of the Festival I usually end up shipping right before Christmas, so I always give myself plenty of time to make sure my stuff arrives before we need it.
I was checking the UPS tracking numbers online last night and in looking at the package's progress I noticed something funny. See if you see what's wrong:
ALISO VIEJO,CA, US 12/19/2007 12:57 A.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
MESQUITE,TX, US 12/20/2007 10:22 P.M. ARRIVAL SCAN
MESQUITE,TX, US 12/21/2007 4:38 A.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
DALLAS/FT. WORTH A/P,TX, US 12/21/2007 11:04 A.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
VERNON,CA, US 12/22/2007 11:12 A.M. ARRIVAL SCAN
CORPUS CHRISTI,TX, US 12/24/2007 1:37 P.M.
THE RECEIVER IS ON A HOLIDAY.
CORPUS CHRISTI,TX, US 12/26/2007 2:02 P.M. DELIVERY
If I'm reading that correctly my packages left Aliso Viejo on 12/19, arrived in Mesquite, TX on 12/20, arrived at Dallas Fort-Worth Airport on 12/21, arrived in VERNON, CA on 12/22, arrived back in Corpus Christi on 12/24 and was delivered on 12/26. My packages crossed half the country three times to get to the coastal town of Rockport. No wonder it cost so much.
I'm glad the airline schedules aren't like that.
