Rev. Wright to Speak to the National Press Club

They must have James Carville booking Rev. Wright's appearances:

WASHINGTON--The controversial Rev. Jeremiah Wright -- Sen. Barack Obama's pastor -- is speaking Monday at the National Press Club as part of a divinity conference of black church leaders. Wright's decision to headline an event at the Press Club -- open to all media -- risks giving Obama's critics more fodder, as if they don't have enough already.

Meanwhile, PBS is touting an interview with Wright to be broadcast Friday on "Bill Moyers' Journal." Fresh material from Wright -- no matter how well-intended -- is not what Obama needs.

The Clinton campaign couldn't have planned this any better. The Good Rev. just can't stay out of the spotlight, and every controversial word out of his mouth just adds doubts about Obama's judgment (even if John McCain can't figure that out).

Unfortunately for Obama, Rev. Wright just can't rein in his own ego and shut-up until November.

Speaking of the Rev. Wright, Howard the Donkey (Dean) is calling the North Carolina GOP ad "racially divisive" because it dares to show the Rev. Wright in full "God DXXX America!" mode. Hey Howard, since blacks will vote more than 90% for the Dems no matter what McCain does, I think it's too late to call this ad "racially divisive".

UPDATE: The details of Rev. Wright's interview with Bill Moyers is here. He's claiming his words were "twisted".

UPDATE 2: Wright speaks at the National Press Club. I'm not sure he wants Obama to win.

UPDATE 3: More reaction to Wright's appearance here.
