About That Newsweek Poll

You may have heard that Newsweek has a poll out showing Obama with a 15 point lead over McCain. Although Obama is already picking out presidential seals to match the curtains in the Oval Office, a Brit Hume quote from 2000 might bring a little perspective to Newsweek's polling operation (h/t The Corner):
“[B]y the way, with regard to the Newsweek poll, I think we now are beginning to know why The Washington Post, which owns Newsweek, does its polling with "ABC NEWS" and leaves Newsweek to do its — I think if Newsweek took a poll of the Bush family, Gore would win.

(Fox News Sunday, September 10, 2000)

All the polls are pretty much meaningless right now, but there's certainly a desire on the part of the mainstream media to make Obama's election a foregone conclusion in the minds of the voters. Fortunately, Obama will keep doing dumb things (like the aforementioned president seal) and will succeed in keeping a great many Americans from taking him seriously.
