You've heard of the "Sweet 16th" birthday, well today is my son's "Sweaty 17th". It was somewhere around 104 here today*, and yesterday when it was even hotter the poor kid had a 5 hour marching band rehearsal in preparation for a July trip to the Calgary Stampede. You can see he got a little burned out there yesterday:
He's holding a video capture device that used to capture video from his XBox360 video game....which died the day after we bought this gift. Right now it's traveling somewhere around the world for repairs and he hopes to get it back sometime in the next 3 weeks.
The girl is home from college and just got her long hair cut short for the hot summer. She was out in the sun for that band rehearsal too. The high school band called her back to play the featured flute/piccolo solos in the show they'll do in Calgary. I've got to include her shot too:
It's hard to believe that I have a 17-year old and a 19-year old, but time marches on.
*At one point my outside air temperature gauge read 137 degrees. The transmitter was sitting in the sun on a hot surface. It wasn't that hot but it felt like it.
