San Clemente Beach

I'm not much of a beach guy, but because it was hot and humid today we decided to run down to the beach for awhile to enjoy some cool Pacific Ocean breezes. We chose a small strip of San Clemente Beach because it's not very busy, and ..., well, you'll see.

This beach is very rocky. I don't know if they've brought in the gravel to keep the tide from washing the rest of the beach away, but it would not be a pleasant place to walk barefoot:
We found a comfortable spot and kicked back for 90 minutes or so:

If you'll look right over their shoulders you'll see the other reason I chose this beach. The main line between Los Angeles and San Diego runs right along the beach just a few feet behind us. Four different trains passed while we were sitting there:
On the way south we noticed that the Avery Parkway exit was closed with lots of police in the area. As it turns out today was the 29th annual "Moon the Amtrak" day in Laguna Niguel. We had trains just a few feet away, but decided to pass on the mooning.

I wouldn't want to cause a derailment.
