McCain Goes After Hillary Voters

I don't know who's running the development of McCain's ads, but lately they've been outstanding. "Celeb", "The One" and "The One - Road to Denver" were all funny and tremendously on point in skewering the image of the Obamessiah. After releasing an ad showing Joe Biden in his own words criticizing Obama's lack of experience, they've now gone for the jugular with this ad which asks viewers (and 18 million Hillary voters) why she's not on the ticket. Here's the transcript and the ad (h/t Top of the Ticket):
This new Sunday ad is titled "Passed Over." Aimed clearly at the 18 million disappointed Democrats who voted for her during the long primary season, the ad asks why she was passed over for the No. 2 spot?

It shows Clinton and says:

"She won millions of votes.

"But isn't on his ticket.

"Why?

"For speaking the truth.

"On his plans:

HILLARY CLINTON: "You never hear the specifics."

ANNCR: "On the Rezko scandal:

HILLARY CLINTON: "We still don't have a lot of answers about Senator Obama."

ANNCR: "On his attacks:

HILLARY CLINTON: "Senator Obama's campaign has become increasingly negative."

ANNCR: "The truth hurt.

"And Obama didn't like it.

JOHN MCCAIN: "I'm John McCain and I approved this message."

Nothing funny there. Just an in-your-face to Obama and a blatant call to arms for the Hillary voters. They're all asking the same questions.

Besides the insult of not even considering her for VP, a lot of people are commenting on the timing of the infamous text message announcement - 3am. You'll remember that Hillary's "3am" ad was quite effective against Obama and probably started the tide of primary losses he suffered. Was the timing deliberate? You bet. The arrogance of the Obama campaign is such that they think they can commit obvious disrespect to Hillary and not suffer a penalty for it.

I think they're wrong, and McCain's campaign apparently agrees.
