James Taranto comments on their "tradition of neutrality":"NOW is going to be endorsing the Obama-Biden ticket," NOW head Kim Gandy told National Public Radio (NPR), referring to Obama and his running mate Joseph Biden.
The 500,000-strong women's movement, which "very, very rarely endorses in a general election," broke with its tradition of neutrality after "the addition of Sarah Palin gave us a new sense of urgency," said Gandy.
Its tradition of neutrality? Would that be the same tradition NOW was following when it endorsed Hillary Clinton last year, when it urged "all women to vote for John Kerry" in 2004, or when it undertook its "Bush Whacker campaign" in 2000?
The NAGS have become largely irrelevant. They claim a big membership, but there's no evidence to suggest their influence extends beyond a few hairy-legged feminists of questionable gender.
