Thanks to the upcoming election and links from various other sites, the daily traffic to this blog has increased about 250% in the last couple of months. I'm not complaining at all, and a hearty welcome to those of you who are new readers. I hope you'll stick around after the election brouhaha dies down.
With the increase in traffic there we've also picked up a small infestation of lefty trolls. What are trolls? They're poor pathetic souls who spend their lonely days looking for conservative websites and then posting an endless string of insults or other objectionable comments designed to pick a fight with the blogger or other commenters. Their personal development stopped somewhere around the third grade.
For most of you and I, if we come across a website that we disagree with, we simply ignore it and move on to something else. Trolls aren't mature enough to do that. They get enraged with what they're reading and feel it is their mission in life to ridicule whatever they don't like about the information on that site. Lefties are driven by emotion and that often doesn't leave much room for rationality.
There is a comment policy for this site and I'm not shy about banning or aborting comments that don't meet the policy requirements. Up until now I've allowed all comments to automatically post to the site, but thanks to the trolls, I'm going to turn the moderation feature back on for awhile so I can screen the comments before they go up on the site. If you're a regular who has been commenting for awhile, go ahead and keep leaving your remarks and as soon as I see your name I'll approve them. The responsible commenters will still get their thoughts on the site, but the trolls will be wasting their time.
Thanks again for the visits - a little time and some tough love and we'll get rid of the trolls.
