"We want to fight, and I want to fight, but we will be respectful," McCain said to boos at first. "I want everyone to be respectful," he then said and people began to clap.
In response to a later question he added, "You can be respectful and point out facts," as he called on his supporters to point out facts to their neighbors but be respectful.
*** UPDATE *** McCain just added, "He is a decent person and a person who you do not have to be scared as president of the United States."
After that, McCain said of himself that he just thinks he'd be a better President of the the United States." Some in the crowd booed his statement and shouted, "No!"
Apparently McCain was spooked by the press reports that tried to paint his crowds as a bunch of raving hate-filled lunatics. They suckered him and he fell for it.
That's it, folks. It's over. There's no longer any reason for McCain supporters to put up a fight. McCain has just told us that Obama is a decent person and we don't have to be afraid of an Obama presidency. Carl Cameron reported on the same rally and said it was "pindrop silent" when McCain told the crowd they didn't have to be afraid of Obama. Absolute foolishness.
The GOP will lose and lose huge. McCain doesn't want it bad enough to fight for it and point out the radicals who have been pulling Obama's strings for years. Any enthusiasm I had for the ticket....POOF, gone.
America is going to have a socialist government. Any chance we had to stop it just disappeared.
UPDATE: Here's what I now expect on Nov. 4th.
