You Know What They Say About the Word "Assume"

Obama's excuse number 15 or 16 for his relationship with William Ayers goes something like this:
Obama on Ayers, yesterday: "Ultimately, I ended up learning about the fact that he had engaged in this reprehensible act 40 years ago, but I was eight years old at the time and I assumed that he had been rehabilitated."
Let me just ask you a personal question: If you found out a "friend" or associate of yours used to bomb other Americans, would you really care if he had been "rehabilitated"? I wouldn't. That guy would be history as far as I was concerned.

Oh sure, you're supposed to be able to forgive and forget, but if the guy refused to acknowledge the evil of his past, he doesn't deserve either forgiving or forgetting. Ayers has never repudiated his past or repented for his actions. He's just as much a radical today as he was in the 60's and it's not enough for Obama to condemn his past acts of violence, he needs to condemn the man that still harbors those radical thoughts today.
