It's a historic day in America. We have elected a black man to be president, which is certainly a sign that America is a different place than it used to be. And I don't ever want to hear again how America is a racist country or how criticism of Obama is racist. Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and all the other race hustlers - shut the &)#* up. Liberal whites, you can stop feeling guilty. You've now atoned for the sin of being a person of pallor.
It's a shame that we have elected such a terribly flawed man, but the metrics involved in this election would have made any GOP candidate a longshot. It's now time for the GOP to get their act together, vigorously oppose the liberal legislation and policies to the best of their abilities that are coming (thank God we still have Mitch McConnell), and prepare the way for a GOP wave election in 2010.
It's also time to dispel of the notion that Republicans have to nominate RINOs because they can win. They can't. Conservatives win.
I will not miss seeing McCain every day, but I will miss seeing Sarah Palin. Sarah - study hard and get ready for 2012.
The campaign starts today.
