Idiotic Election Commentary of the Day

From (where else) the New York Times:
"Barack Obama won the election because he saw what is wrong with this country: the utter failure of government to protect its citizens."

—New York Times, The Next President

Yeah, Bush completely failed to stop the multiple terrorist attacks that have occurred since 9/11.
Wait. There haven't been any attacks since 9/11. That pretty much makes the NY Times statement the height of foolishness, doesn't it?

And if they try to justify it by claiming Bush didn't protect his citizens from the financial crisis, they're going to have to go back much further than Bush to get to the source of that problem. And they'll have to admit that it was the Democrats and their policies that created the problems that Bush tried to stop, but couldn't thanks to Dem obstruction.

But that won't happen because it doesn't fit their anti-Bush template.

Honorary mention for Idiotic Election Commentary of the Day goes to the new Facebook group: Barack Obama Will Become a War Criminal Immediately Upon His Inauguration. That bunch claims that Obama is a war criminal if he doesn't immediately pull all of our troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan. They're kidding themselves if they think that's gonna happen.
